Jacob's farm went to his son, John, but not until 1781, when John married at the age of 28. I am unsure who operated the farm between Jacob's death in 1759 and the transfer in 1781. Jacob Newcomer's farmed in Hempfield. His property includes present day intersection of Elizabeth Street and Stony Battery Road. It is generally east of that intersection and extended north to touch current Highway 283. As shown on the East Hempfield warrantee map, Jacob's 176 acres were patented by him on 11 October 1750. Johannes (John) NEWCOMER53 was born about 1733.340 He died after 19 Mar 1792 in Hempfield, Lancaster, PA.340 Johannes Newcomer's death date was calculated by Marsha Rising based on a deed dated 19 March 1792 transferring several pieces of property to his son, John. Virginia Lane gave his death year as 1782. A Johannes Newcomer paid taxes on 150 acres of land that he patented on 22 February 1743 (Hempfield Warrantee Map which gives reference A-11-290). This land is now a subdivision just north of Route 30 and Stony Battery Road. You enter the development on Highland Drive and Primerose Lane.
This Johannes Newcomer, along with his Stoneman sister-in-laws and their husbands, bought and then sold 150 acres on Little Conestoga Creek. The property was purchased from Elizabeth Stoneman's father, John Stoneman, and resold to a John Stoneman. My guess that the two John Stonemans were father and son. Furthermore, my guess is that John Stoneman, Sr. left the farm to all of his children, and that they in turn transferred ownership to one child, John Stoneman, Jr.
Johannes Newcomer was an active buyer and seller of land. In addition, he was a blacksmith.
Johannes signed his name "NewKomatt."
There is problem, however. If Johannes was born around 1733, he would have been too young to own land in 1743. Parents: Peter NEWCOMER Junior.

Johannes "Hans" NEWCOMER34,49,3509 was born about 1695 in , , Switzerland.340 One source, but I cannot determine who, estimated Johannes Newcomer's birth year as 1707. He died on 25 Aug 1760 in Strasburg, Lancaster, PA.731 Johannes Newcomer bought 100 acres from Martin and Alice Kundig (Kendig) in Strasburg, Pennsylvania on 2 May 1729 (deed U-522 & 523).
Is this 100 acres part of the original 1711 land patent for 1,080 acres in the name of Martin Kindig (Kendig) shown on the warrant maps for Strasburg, Pennsylvania? Part of my confusion is a reference to this land being part of the original 800 acres patented by Martin Kendig. Do the 1,080 acres shown on the warrant map include the 800 acres mentioned in the deed? I do not know, but the mentioned adjoining property owners cannot be found on the Strasburg warrant map. If it does, this 1,080 parcel is located where the Strasburg Pike crosses Peqeau Creek and going south to around Twin Elm Road
Upon Johannes Newcomer's death in 1760, he left his lands to his heirs (deed U-526). His children, in turn, transferred ownership to one heir, Abraham Newcomer.
A Hans Newcomer is listed on the Conestoga Township tax roles in 1718, 1721 and 1725. This could be Johannes Newcomer. If he were born in 1695, he would be old enough to own land in 1718. He could have move in 1729 to Strasburg, as mentioned above.
A Hans Newcomer came to Chester County, Pennsylvania from the Palatine, Germany in 1711. This may be Johannes Newcomer. If so, this would support the theory that Peter Newcomer, Johannes's father, actually came in 1711. The 1717 date is when a group of settlers gained title to their land after 6 years of making payments. Thus, it is likely that the 1717 date has been cited mistakenly for the date of immigration when it should be the date of gaining ownership. Another possibility is that Hans came to America before his father. This would require that Hans be born before 1695, as he would have been only 16 in 1711.
In 1735 a John Newcomer obtained 109 acres in Manor. In 1750 a John Newcomer was a blacksmith in Lancaster. In the same year, a John Newcomer bought land from Mumma (deed D-99). It seems likely that there were more than one John/Hans in the Lancaster area in this time period.
Ancestry.com (no further source detail is available) gives Johannes Newcomer's wife as Anna Schnebele. Parents: Peter (1719) NEWCOMER Senior.
